The app crashes on my iphone5 each time I start it.

This is the best app for SPL measuring you can possibly imagine. It costs a small amount, delivers pretty accurate results and has a LOT of settings and features. Add that up to constant updates and good support and it will be a five star rating. 10/10 must buy

I am very careful with my hearing in loud environments. This App is excellent for reading loudness levels throughout my day. I sometimes work around an airport. I always protect my ears. Its nice to know what these loud situations could be doing to my hearing at the convenience of my smartphone.

An educational app that might prevent significant loss of hearing or ringing in the ears in the future. I checked best sound apps and found a review of "30 iPad sound measurement apps review" and SPLnFFT appeared to be a winner.

I tried several other apps, but this is the best by far. Its worth the extra pennies to get an app that really works.

This Noise Meter is extremely high quality. The included features make it absolutely professional-quality. I have also tested it against another noise meter software package and it seems to be very accurate. The amount of detail you can get between meters, bar graphs, etc. is superb. Highly recommended!

This app helped me find the ranges needed to supress sounds from VFD water pumps.

I use this to know when to get out of noisy venues. Great interface makes it easy to show others its just too loud. Its also fascinating to see just how noisy even quiet homes and places are. Well worth the money.

Please make the pop up requesting a review go away. I wrote a five star review and every time I open the app the pop up asking for a review opens every time I open the app! I already wrote a review. Im looking at apartments in a building right now so Im opening and closing the app like ten times and its annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every time I open the app I have to click cancel on the pop up window.

I just purchased SPLnFFT and like the application a lot. Problem is I dont know what the db, db(A), db(B), db(C) & 468 is or does and there isnt any explination. I do not want and have never had a Facebook account. Without an email address or website where someone can ask a question makes the application very limited with no support. That is something I dont like at all. I would give the application 5 stars if I could contact someone but I cant. Because of that Im giving it only 3.

I find myself using this App in my profession quite often. It does everything I need and is fairly on point. Happy with reliability.

The program works well enough on basic tools. However, I have two complaints: 1) Stop telling me I should turn on Rotation every time I open the app! It is on! Once, on the very first use, is sufficient. 2) It is totally stupid to place the entire company web site inside FaceBook. The entire world is NOT made up of FB users. In fact, as a privacy advocate and free speech supporter I refuse to play on FB, and advise others to take the same actio. I dont care if you want to use FB for marketing, but for crying out loud, maintain your company site and support access on the open WWW! And use an open e-mail address! For crying out loud, the only way to even ask a question is to use FB messaging. JEEEEZ!

Finding a quality tool like this is a real pleasure. I especially like the custom interface that looks fantastic yet is easy to use. Given the easy calibration system and tool tips, this is five stars.

All jokes aside, this app really is quite honest at letting you know whats hitting the room, whats coming out of the speakers and hitting your ears, etc. The only "gripe" (and that is a stretch to even call it that) is it takes a little while to figure out what all the little semi-hidden functions on it do. IMHO, this is one of the best dB meters out there. It is accurate and STABLE <--- thats a major plus Good job, yall.

Update (5/1/16): In follow-up, contacted customer service for mentioned issues. FL, there was fantastically patient, explaining applications subtleties. (and that it was operating satisfactorily) One thing I would still prefer, may be corrected in a future iOS release: Playing and Recording through Bluetooth. Original Review: "Recently, downloaded this paid app. Unfortunately, was perplexed then disappointed. First, wanted to see how loud stereo was. Unfortunately, because receiver was playing via Bluetooth, sound turned off when switching to app. (you cannot run another app. simultaneously) Later, purchased a handheld Galaxy Audio SPL meter. It, the Galaxy consistently measured 10 dB LOWER..." Jay M.

As a university researcher doing audio work, and having tried over 10 dB meter apps, I can confidently say this is the best one available to any iOS device. With a variety of professional grade filters and settings, the iPhone’s immense power as a microphone can be fully realized. This app is listed for a few dollars, but I’d happily pay much more for it. It’s worth every penny, and puts other dB meters to shame. SPLnFFT is in a completely separate performance class of its own.

...and accurate for a hand-held device.

Impressed with the range of features that makes this app worth every penny. I was skeptical of the internal mic at first, but with no calibration the app measured SPL to within about a dB of a common low-cost handheld SPL meter. That being said, if you expect accurate measurements, be sure to calibrate your device and be aware of handling noise. Pretty cool app. Five stars.
